  • 15g corn flour
  • Chopped carrot

  • Chicken Vegetable Powder
  • Spinach Powder
  • Whitebait Powder
  • Organic avocado oil, for cooking
  • A sprinkle of black sesame, optional

How to Make Baby Prawn Ring with Egg Yolk

1. Prepare the Prawns
Peel, devein, and clean the prawns thoroughly. If desired, soak them briefly in ice water with a few lemon slices to help reduce the fishy smell.

2. Soften the Vegetables
Blanch the chopped carrot and broccoli until soft. Drain well, then finely chop.

3. Blend the Prawns
Add the prawns and egg white into a food processor. Blend until you get a smooth paste.

4. Mix the Ingredients
Transfer the prawn mixture into a bowl. Add the finely chopped carrot, broccoli, 15g corn flour, and a small amount of Chicken Vegetable, Spinach, and Whitebait Powder. Mix well until a thick paste forms.

5. Shape the Prawn Ring
Heat a little avocado oil in a non-stick pan over low heat. Spoon the mixture into the pan and gently shape it into a thick ring, leaving a small hole in the centre.

6. Add the Egg Yolk
Carefully pour the egg yolk into the centre of the ring. Sprinkle a little black sesame on top if desired.

7. Pan-Fry Gently
Cook over low to medium heat until the bottom turns golden and the mixture is set enough to flip. Gently flip the prawn ring and cook the other side until golden and fully cooked.

8. Cool & Serve
Make sure the prawn and egg are fully cooked through. Let it cool to a safe temperature, then cut into baby-friendly pieces before serving.

Tips for the Best Baby Prawn Ring

  • Make sure the prawns are thoroughly cleaned and fully cooked through before serving.
  • Always check carefully for any remaining pieces of prawn shell.
  • Cook over low to medium heat so the outside doesn't brown too quickly before the centre is cooked.
  • For younger babies, cut the prawn ring into smaller, soft pieces according to their eating ability.
  • Introduce prawns and egg separately first if they are new allergens for your baby, and watch for any signs of an allergic reaction.
  • Always check the temperature before serving.
